Apple iPhone 6 to pack 1GB of RAM?

WASHINGTON: As American technological giant Apple gearing up to launch its flagship smartphone Apple iPhone 6 now new report recons that the device will pack only 1 GB RAM.

As we are getting closer towards the launch of Apple iPhone the anticipation keeps getting higher and higher.

We have already seen the 4.7 inch iPhone 6 leaked with its retail box and also seen the iPhone 6 running iPhone 6 now new leaked report suggest the device will pack 1GB RAM.

The iPhone 5S came with 1GB of RAM on board and proved to be quite powerful, but today’s top smartphones come with at least 2GB, if not 3GB of RAM. The next-generation iPhone 6 is expected to boast notable improvements over its predecessor and, in addition to a significantly larger display, it was also rumored to come with a heftier amount of RAM.

However sources said 5.5 inch iPhone 6  (iPhone 6L) will pack 2 GB RAM or more.

Weibo from GeekBar (via GforGames) and if the image proves to be accurate, it looks like the much-touted iPhone 6 will pack only 1GB of RAM. This would make it seem inferior compared to other high-end flagship smartphones out there, despite the fact that Apple has always managed to optimize its devices to do more with less.

Even if Apple does manage to enable its devices to handle complex tasks without drawing up too many resources, just 1GB of RAM still sounds quite poor compared to today’s standards. On the other hand, nothing is confirmed just yet, which means that there’s still hope for more RAM with the next-generation iPhone.

Leaving the RAM aside, the iPhone 6 is widely expected to launch in two large-screen models – one with a 4.7-inch panel and the other with a 5.5-inch display – and boast high-end specs and features all around. The iPhone 6 will reportedly feature an improved Touch ID fingerprint reader, better LTE radio, wireless charging, NFC, and more. The latest iOS 8, meanwhile, will also bring along all of the goodies it has to offer, which means that the iPhone 6 should rock some impressive software features.

With nothing officially confirmed, however, it all remains in the rumor state for now. As always in such cases, it’s highly-recommended to take everything with a grain of salt. Apple is expected to take the wraps off its new iPhone 6 in September, and we’ll keep you up to date as soon as more information becomes available.
