Govt started crackdown against PTI

LAHORE: Dozens of Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) workers have been arrested in different areas of Pakistan’s most populated province, Punjab.

One of the main entrance to the capital city Islamabad, Rawat to Islamabad road has been closed.

Rawalpindi and Islamabad’s administration have closed majority of other entry points to Islamabad with 400 containers after imposing the 144 in the city.

Police has arrested 14 PTI workers in Pakpattan district of Punjab. District police confirms the news and said that political workers were arrested from the urban areas of the district.

Gathering of more than five people has been restricted as local administration has imposed the article 144 in Faisalabad.

Sindh-Punjab border was closed from yesterday where hundreds of vehicles stopped in traffic jam.

According to the PakistanTribe.com, around 60,000 PTI workers from Khyber Pakhtoonkhwa (KP), 300,000 from Punjab while 20,000 from Sindh including Karachi will join Azadi (Independence Day) march at Islamabad’s D-Chowk.

17,000 Police and Frontier Constabulary (FC) personnels have been deployed to tackle the situation.
