Quetta blast leaves 20 injured

QUETTA: At least 20 injured including a policeman in a blast on Tuesday at the provincial capital of Baluchistan, Quetta.

According to Superintendent of Police Imran Qureshi, armed militants hurled a bomb at a shop in Prince Road area of Quetta.

The injured were taken to the civil hospital for medical treatment to provide first aid.

Qureshi said the blast also smashed the glass of nearby shops and markets in the area. The militants sped away on their motorcycle after the attack.

According to reports, the blast occurred in the shop, which was decorated with national flags for Independence Day.

Price road is one of highly populated market of Quetta. In spite of tight security and deployment of paramilitary troops, the blast took place in the heart of the city.
