Pakistan’s inflation rate increases up to 7.9 percent in July

KARACHI: Hike in inflation rate has been recorded up to 1.7 per cent during last month while annual increment in average was 7.88 per cent in Pakistan.

According to the Bureau of Statistics, food prices in July increased 2.7 percent monthly and 7 percent annually while price non-food items increased 1 percent as compared to June and annually increased up to 8.5 percent.

In July, the inflation rate in the country increased up to 7.64 percent while wholesale price index recorded an increase of 6.55 percent, according to Sensitive Price Index (SPI).

During this period Tomato prices increased up to 43.71 percent monthly while Potato prices increased up to 122.6 percent annually.
