GALLE: Sri Lanka on Thursday scored 99 runs on loss of a wicket at the end of day 2 of first test against Pakistan played at Galle international stadium.
Sri Lanka in replay to massive 451 runs total lost an early wicket of Upul Tharanga at the total of 24 runs.
Sri Lanka’s star batsmen Kumar Sangakkara and young Kaushal Silva batted responsibly till the end of the day without giving away any wicket.
Sangakkara scored unbeaten 36 runs while Silva made 38 runs at stumps. Sri Lanka scored 99 on loss of a wicket in 34 overs.
Junaid Khan took the only wicket for Pakistan.
Earlier Pakistan started their incomplete innings from 261 runs with 6 wickets in their bag. Younis Khan played brilliantly for his 177 runs while Asad Shafiq lost his wicket after scoring 75 runs.
Wicket keeper batsmen Sarfaraz Ahmed scored 55 while spinner Abdur Rehman made brilliant 50 runs to guide Green shirts to score 451 runs.
Dilruwan Perera took five wickets for the host.
