Aamir likely to miss 2015 ICC World Cup

LAHORE: Despite the efforts of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), left-arm pacer Mohammad Aamir has been ruled out for playing the 2015 ICC World Cup in Australia and New Zealand, TheNewsTribe reported.

Currently, Aamir is facing the five year ban which will end in September 2015 while the World cup is scheduled to start from February 14.

PCB requested the ICC during its annual conference last year to make few concessions in Aamir’s ban and allow him to play in the 2015 world cup, reports added.

The ICC set up a five-member committee to “review and recommend amendments to the ICC Anti-Corruption Code”, and the re-drafted code will be discussed at the ICC’s next annual conference in October.

Young fast bowler disappointingly said in a television talk show, “I don’t see myself playing in the World cup”.

I am just grateful to the cricket board for taking up my case. I will be ready whenever I am given the chance to resume training or playing.”
