LAHORE: A strong rooted politico-religious party in Pakistan, Jamaat-e-Islami (JI), Ameer Siraj ul Haq on Wednesday resigned from senior ministry of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK).
JI Ameer Siraj-ul-Haq took decision to resign from senior ministry of provincial government in KPK , where he was performing duties as Minister of Finance, since May 11 general election in 2013.
Siraj-ul-Haq revealed the reason in the letter sent to Chief Minister KPK Pervez Khattak that he wants to give more time to his party.
He added that he wishes the continuity of reformations made by him during his tenure even after vacating his post.
Haq’s resignation could create significant shock for Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)-led provincial government in KPK as the JI chief Siraj-ul-Haq is renowned due to his ultra-talented and austerity suited to his assigned ministry.
However, another member of provincial assembly belonging to Jamaat-e-Islami (JI), MPA Inayat Ullah, is likely to be appointed on the finance ministry’s seat vacated by Siraj-ul-Haq.
MPA Inayat Ullah is currently assigning his duties in provincial government on a prominent ministry of local hovernment in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
