KARACHI: Pakistan has released 59 Indian prisoners from Malir jail as a goodwill gesture. And they will be handed over to Indian authorities on Monday at Wagah Border.
58 prisoners were jailed as they were fishing on Pakistani water limits while one of them was taken into the custody for illegally crossing the border.
All the released inmates have been sent to Lahore by bus, where they will be handed over to Indian authorities.
Pakistan government sent the documents of these prisoners to Indian government few months ago and after being accepted as Indian nationals, these prisoners have been released.
Indian prisoners were very happy with the decision taken by Pakistani government. They were treated fairly in Pakistani jails and nobody tortured them.
