ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister of Pakistan Nawaz Sharif will attend the swearing-in ceremony of Narenda Modi in India, scheduled on May 26, confirmed Prime Minister House today.
After days of speculations, finally a statement from Prime Minister House has confirmed that PM Nawaz will go to New Delhi on invitation of India’s to be Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Earlier many analysts predicted that Sharif might not go to India because of Modi’s hateful comments regarding Pakistan during his election campaign.
But Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) member Siddiqui Farooq told an Indian newspaper, “Mr Nawaz Sharif may attend the event to reciprocate the gesture shown by the incoming government of India. If the PM visits Delhi he will tell Mr Modi to assure him of his cooperation to improve ties.”
India has invited the leaders of all SAARC countries to attend Narendra Modi’s swearing-in ceremony.
