ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s federal information minister Pervez Rasheed said on Sunday that former Additional Inspector General (AIG) Karachi Shahid Hayat worked for peace in the metropolis and chief minister Sindh Qaim Ali Shah and information minister Sharjeel Memon took credit of his work.
The information minister said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan should not be taken seriously, his rigging allegations in Sargodha had been found wrong by Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP).
About the Taliban issue, he said that government will talk with those willing to talk and fight with those who want to fight.
Talking about Indian elections and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) win there, he opined that the two countries should move forward and the past should be buried for the sake of good future.
The minister further informed media that Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) has taken notice of Geo Television’s unilateral closure by some cable operators, repeating the government’s stance the cable operators have no right to ban any channel.
