LAHORE: National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has announced to decrease in power tariff by 1.48 rupees per unit while the raise will not apply on K electric customers.
According to the NEPRA sources reduction in tariff was due to decrease in fuel adjustment charges in April.
Customers will benefit from the power tariff reduction from July.
Furnance oil prices were decreased in April bringing down the production cost of power generation. Central Power Purchasing Agency on the reduction of production cost recommended decrease in power tariff to NEPRA.
The NEPRA approving the recommendation decreased the power tariff by 1.48 rupees but it will not applicable to K-electric customers.
