ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan on Sunday demanded election reforms including biometric system and electronic voting machines to prevent rigging in elections.
In an speech at his party’s anti rigging protest on Sunday, Imran Khan vowed to continue his protest until his party’s demands are not taken seriously.
Imran Khan went ahead and demanded that the whole staff of election commission should resign over rigging in last year’s general elections, a complete scrutiny on the four constituencies of National Assembly, a long standing PTI demand.
Then, the PTI chief demanded to punish everyone involved in rigging, as he said that democracy is only threatened by rigging.
Talking about future elections, Imran khan said that they wanted an independent and neutral election commission.
The PTI chief repeatedly said that his struggle is against election rigging would not stop until they get justice over the matter.
Criticizing the Justice system of Pakistan, Imran khan said his party worker Hamid Zaman spent 5.7 million rupees to probe election rigging but could not get justice.
He said Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) government’s antics compelled him to praise Zardari because Zardari did what he said.
The PTI chief revealed that he will announce his party’s future plan in an upcoming Faisalabad rally.
