KARACHI: Pakistan’s prominent intelligence agency, Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), completed investigation session of US secret agent of Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) who was arrested in Karachi, the metropolis of Pakistan.
Pakistan’s FIA completed probe against a secret agent reportedly named as Joel Cox affiliated with US intel agency, Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).
FIA claimed that the probe ended up with prominent developments as significant revelations came out from Cox’s laptop, local media reported.
The secret agency official was arrested over possessing fifteen bullets of 9mm pistol, three small knives and a wrench along with his laptop computer and cell phone, local police department said.
The US secret agent was handed over to FBI for further investigation process after registration of police case in local police station within premises of Karachi international airport.
FIA’s crime circle revealed that Joel Cox failed to present any sensible reason for possessing weaponry material in luggage while boarding on a flight from Karachi.
Yesterday, the FBI official had appeared in court to face anti-terrorism charges, which restrict unauthorised weapons or ammunition on commercial flights, and is scheduled to appear again on Saturday.
The court sent him on four-day physical remand by law enforcement agency under anti-terrorism charges that prohibits carrying arms and ammunition on a commercial flight.
FBI agent arrested in Karachi:
A man named Joel who was arrested by security officials at Karachi international airport on May 5 for carrying bullets now identified as a Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) agent, reported Washington Post.
Jewel currently is in police custody for four-day remand on account of anti-terrorism charges that prohibits carrying arms and ammunition on a commercial flight.
Meghan Gregonis, spokeswoman for the US Embassy in Islamabad, has told media that the US officials are in contact with Pakistani authorities to resolve this matter.
US authorities have urged Pakistani officials to not reveal agent’s personal details for obvious reasons.
According to US official, the agent was in Pakistan to assist government in an investigation of a corruption case.
The US citizen, Joel Cox Eugene, was caught with 15 bullets of 9mm calibre by Airport Security Force officials. He was supposed to go Islamabad via PIA flight (PK 308).
