ISLAMABAD: A three-day conference of Pakistani ambassadors has been organised in the Foreign Office in the chair of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif here on Tuesday.
Addressing the conference, Prime Minister said that Pakistan diplomats have played a vital role in making Pakistan strong.
Envoys are the eyes and ears of country’s leadership and they are an important part of good foreign relationships, said the PM.
He also clarified that Pakistan wants healthy relationship with all neighbouring countries.
And he declared the conference for Pakistan’s envoys as a great step.
Policy of negotiation:
The PM said that negotiation process with Taliban was started with the intention of ending extremism and terrorism from Pakistan.
“We want to deal with all kinds of problems via negotiations – be it India or Kashmir,” he retorted.
And he also supported Afghan reconciliation process in Afghanistan.
According to the PM, Pakistan’s relationship with Arab countries is according to UN charter. And Pakistan still continues the policy of non-interference in internal matters of Middle East countries.
Energy crisis and PM’s Plans:
Nawaz also talked about the energy crisis faced by Pakistan and shared his plans for tackling this issue.
He said, “This year 2600 megawatts of electricity will be added in the national grid. And in the next 10 years, our target is to extend the power output by 21000 megawatts.”
