ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan’s Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has issued ‘Custom General Order 2014’; allowing 1,628 vehicles to deliver military supplies to empower national security forces in Afghanistan.
Significant development has been made by the Pakistani officials in view of US withdrawal from Afghanistan and empowering Afghan national security forces.
One thousand six hundred and twenty-eigh vehicles have been allowed to take military supplies in Afghanistan, according to new order.
All vehicles would be taken to the neighbouring country enroute Jinnah International Airport from Karachi Port, reports said.
The move, provision of permission to allow air routes for military supplies to Afghanistan, was taken over recommendation from United States.
According to Pakistan’s defence ministry officials, the decision was taken for rapid resolution of severe problems being faced by Afghan national security forces.
Frequent and immediate military supplies would increase capacity of the national security forces busy in Afghanistan besides strengthening ties of two neighbouring countries.
Defence Ministry said that the supply procedures will be continued till next few months.
