PESHAWAR: Jamaat-e-Islami leader and member of Taliban committee Prof Muhammad Ibrahim Khan has appealed the Pakistan Army and Taliban for the success of on-going negotiation process between Taliban and Government here on Thursday in a ‘Jirga’, The News Tribe reported.
Both the parties should announce ceasefire in respect of Holy month of ‘Rajab’, Prof Ibrahim suggested.
“Taliban will accept constitution of Pakistan– I guarantee. But implementation of Islamic provisions present in Pakistan’s constitution should be ensured,” he said.
According to him, the real parties in negotiation process are Army and the Taliban and he pleaded them to keep the guns aside for the sake of Pakistan.
He said that the dialogue process can be successful but it need a support of Pakistan Army.
Prof Ibrahim proudly told that he was responsible for the first meeting between Taliban and Government. Adding that meetings are always first step for confidence building between two parties.
He was also concerned about the people of FATA as they are deprived of real justice.
