ISLAMABAD: Kuwait Fund (KF) management agreed to provide Rs.806.4 million for the completion of eight educational facilities including Rawalakot Chotta Gala university campus girls and boys colleges in earthquake hit areas of AJK.
This decision was taken in marathon meeting between Kuwait Fund Management and ERRA high level delegation at Kuwait City. The delegation was led by Deputy Chairman ERRA Maj. Gen Muhammad Azeem Asif. Deputy Chairman ERRA highlighted the ongoing projects funded by Kuwait Fund and said that out of 31 projects so far 23 have been completed while remaining eight projects will be reconstructed. He said that KF has approved Rs.4.962 billion for the 31 projects in AJ&K.
During the meeting KF funds management acknowledged the pace of work and appreciated ERRA Management for amicable removal of hurdles including litigation by some land owners which caused delay of eight projects including state of art university Rawalakot Chotta Gala campus.
While sharing the details of the meeting here Deputy Chairman said that KF will provide Rs.1.164 billion for the completion of Rawalakot (AJK) University Chotta Gala. He said that so for 10 per cent construction work has been completed. He expressed hope that with new techniques and vision the projects will be completed as the earliest
Giving the details regarding KF projects, ERRA official Col. ® Atif Bashir said that government Girls Degree College Abbas Pura Rawalakot to be completed with the cost of Rs.108.9 million. He said that Government Girls Inter Colleges Ali Sojal Poonch Rawalakot 80 per cent work completed and rest work will be finished with the cost of Rs.64.6 million.
He added that Government Boys Inter College Charala Bagh is also 74 per cent completed while remaining work will be carried out with Rs.73.5 million. He said that government Girls Inter College Khai Bagh has been near completion. He said that Government boy’s degree college Ath Maqam (Muzaffarabad) 96 per cent work has been done.
He added that Rs.143 million projects will completed in couple of months. He said that Government Boys Inter College Taral Khal also near completion which cost is Rs.97.4 million. He added Tain village government Girls Inter College 45 per cent work has been done while litigation is hampering its completion. He added that efforts are underway to resolve the issue.
