It is the trial period for 3G service in Pakistan and many companies are offering free 3G service for limited time. And to make most of it, you should have a smartphone that supports 3G.
And if you own such a phone then you need to enable 3G before you can enjoy the perks of newly born 3G service in Pakistan.

How to enable/activate 3G on Android phones
2) Click “More”
3) Then go to “Mobile Networks”
4) Now on next screen, click on “Network Mode”
5) Select “WCDMA (preferred) / GSM. It will allow your smartphone to search for 3G networks also.
That’s it 3G is on your android smartphone.
Whenever you are in a 3G network coverage area, your phone will automatically turn on the 3G mode otherwise the GSM/2G will work.
If you want to stay on 3G network only then select “WCDMA Only” option. But in this setting, when you are not in 3G coverage area, you won’t receive any signals and obviously you won’t make or receive calls. Therefore it is recommended to use “WCDMA (proffered) / GSM” option.
When your phone is connected with 3G network, you can browse “Settings->About Phone->Status to see “Mobile Network Type”, which in this case was HSPA.
How to enable/activate 3G on iOS Devices
1) Go to Settings –> General –> Cellular –> Enable both “Cellular data” and “3G”.
Congratulations your phone is now 3G network friendly and it will automatically connect whenever you are in a 3G coverage area.

1) Go to App List
2) Go to Setting
3) Select Network Type
4) Select 3G
5) Hit back arrow and go to home screen.

How to enable/activate 3G on Asha Phones
1) Go to Settings
2) Select “Device”
3) Select “Network Mode”
4) Select “Dual Mode” or “3G”
3G process is complete

1) Go to Tools

How to enable/activate 3G on your smartphone (General)
STEP # 1:
Pick any of the following in the “Network Settings” or “Mobile Networks” on your smartphone,
a) GSM/WDCMA (auto) mode
b) 2G + 3G mode
c) GSM / UMTS mode
d) Dual Mode

Once you are done with this and enter a 3G coverage area, the icon next to the ‘network signals’ will change to any of the following:
