ISLAMABAD: Economic Advisory Council (EAC) meeting on Saturday has revealed that about 50 % of Pakistan’s population is living under poverty line, media reported.
Finance Minister of Pakistan Ishaq Dar chaired the EAC meeting to discuss various issues regarding Pakistan economy.
The meeting considered anyone who earns less than Rs 200 a day as poor and it turned out that almost 50 % of Pakistani people don’t make Rs 200 per day.
EAC meeting also talked about some major matters like govt. employees’ salaries and future of Benazir Income Support Program (BISP).
Budget 2014 was also a part of EAC’s meeting but no decisions have been taken yet.
