Lahore: Potato prices have been increased up to Rs7 per kilogram despite the strict order given by Pakistan’s finance minster Ishaq Dar.
Potato price had decreased at Rs 10 after the announcement of federal government but Commission agent, market committees and price control committees held the secret meeting and showed Rs 3 decreasing on the federal tariff and increased Rs 7 per kilo.
Commission agents and farmers got the benefit of Rs10 crore over the potato price within a day.
According to sources that agent would not any action against the retailer whose are selling the potato between 55 to 60 kg.
President of vegetable market Badami Bag Chaudhry Ejaz said that the real fact of price increasing is exportation of the Potato.
Ejaz further said that almost 0.2 million potato sold to Europe, Africa, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, Iran and Iraq during this year.
