Colombo: Sri Lankan fast-bowler Lasith Malinga has been appointed as Twenty20 skipper till March 2015 for Sri Lankan team here on Wednesday.
Malinga took over from Dinesh Chandimal, who had been suspended and then pulled out of the side, due to poor form and then led the side to the title.
Chandimal has been replaced on a permanent basis.
Angelo Mathews has been appointed as the Captain of the National ODI Team while Lahiru Thirimanne has been appointed as the Vice Captain of same until March 2015.
