Islamabad: A high-level meeting to discuss national security has been started under the chair of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in PM house here on Thursday.
According to reports, the meeting will review the overall security situation of Pakistan including the status of dialogue process between the government and the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).
Chief of Army Staff (COAS), General Raheel Sharif, Director General Inter-Services Intelligence (DG ISI) Lieutenant General Zaheerul Islam, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) General Rashid Mahmood, PM’s Advisor on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz, Defence Minister Khawaja Asif, Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar and Information Minister Pervez Rashid will be present in the meeting.
The report said that Director General Inter-Services Intelligence (DG ISI) Lieutenant General Zaheerul Islam and Director General Intelligence Bureau (DG IB) Aftab Sultan and Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan will brief the meeting over the security situation and the development regarding the dialogue process with the TTP.
