KARACHI: Rumpus and uproar have been spread in the Sindh Assembly after an adjournment motion tabled by the Muttahida Qaumi Movement was rejected declaring it as against rules by a member from the treasury benches.
The motion had been tabled in protest of what the party called “extrajudicial killings and arrests” of its activists. It was presented by MQM member of provincial assembly Muhammad Hussain.
It was rejected by Sindh Parliamentary Affairs Minister Dr Sikandar Mandhro who declared it to be in violation of house rules.
Opposition members of MQM erupted in protest against the decision following which members from both the treasury and opposition benches engaged in sloganeering. MQM members tore down agenda’s copies.
Amid the protest and uproar of opposition benches in the House, Deputy Speaker Sindh Assembly Syeda Shehla Raza adjourned the session until Friday. She was presiding the session today.
