JHANG: Election tribunal declared election of Sheikh Muhammad Akram from NA-89 as ‘void’ and proposed a reschedule.
A petition was filed by Ahlesunnat Wal Jamaat (ASWJ) leader Maulana Ahmed Ludhianvi against Sheikh Muhammad Akram of Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) on the charges of bank default among others.
Election tribunal accepted Ahmed Ludhianvi’s petition for hearing.
It must be remembered that the constituency has a history of PML-N and ASWJ patch up but surprisingly in 2013 elections, PML-N gave ticket to Sheikh Waqas Akram, ineligible due to a fake degree, Waqas put forward his father Sheikh Muhammad Akram to contest.
