QUETTA: At least 12 people were killed and over two dozens injured in a blast targeting Jaffar Express at Sibi Railway Station, police said on Tuesday.
Fire engulfed the boggy of the train after the blast. Rescue teams and fire-brigade have been reached at the site while bodies and injured have shifted the Civil Hospital and the Combined Military Hospital (CMH).
Railway Minister Khwaja Sad Rafique has said the death toll might rise as all bodies have not been recovered.
He said investigation into the matter has been started. He said the blast could be a reaction of Frontier Constabulary (FC) recent operation against militants.
Railway officials said the blast ripped through the boggy 9 of the train.
