London: Samsung’s flagship smartphone Samsung Galaxy S5 will be available for pre-orders from March 28 in UK.
Samsung UK announced today that the Galaxy S5 will be available for pre-order starting March 28. The device will be available across a variety of retailers in addition to Samsung’s e-store and a brick-and-mortar store in London.
Carphone Warehouse, a London-based retailer, also announced that it would begin pre-orders for the Galaxy S5 from March 28. Customers who pre-order the Galaxy S5 will receive their orders on April 11, which is when the device is launching globally.
The price of the device hasn’t been revealed yet, but if a few UK-based retailer listings are any indications, the 16 GB Galaxy S5 will cost £599 ($995) after taxes.
The Galaxy S5 comes with a 5.1-inch full-HD screen, is IP67 certified dust and water resistant, has 2 GB RAM, quad-core 2.5 GHz Snapdragon 801 CPU, 16/32 GB internal storage and a microSD slot that can accommodate 128 GB SD cards.
In addition, the device features a new 16 MP camera that comes with Selective Focus, a utility that lets users change the focus after taking an image. There is also a 2800 mAh battery that features intelligent battery saving techniques that allow users to extend battery life.
