RIYADH: A Saudi Arabian court sentenced 1000 lashes to a national youth and 10-year imprisonment over rash driving and killing a friend during stunt driving.
Police arrested a 23-year-old youth after complain of locals from suburban area of Riyadh and recovered car related stuff, fake number plates, fake identity cards and other documents from his house during a raid.
The accused man, reportedly known as ‘The King of Nazeem Neighborhood”, appeared many times on YouTube videos drifting with his car and sometimes driving into oncoming traffic.
The youth had uploaded his rash driving video on social networking site which showed that he was driving car in dangerous manner on busy street while his friends were seen doing aerial firing during the ride.
In the court, prosecution argued that he must be sentenced to death because his aerobics killed his friend.
However, the court sentenced him 10 years jail and 1000 whip lashes and also ruled for imposition of lifetime ban on driving.
