Washington: Good news for T-Mobile Galaxy Note 3 owners that the device finally start getting awaited Android 4.4.2 KitKat update.
Galaxy Note 3 users on the T-Mobile network must have felt left out as the international version of the device starting getting the Android 4.4.2 KitKat update more than a month and a half ago. We mentioned over the weekend that Samsung released the KitKat kernel source for T-Mobile’s Galaxy Note 3, which usually indicates that an OTA update is underway.
And just like clockwork, it looks like the carrier has begun its KitKat rollout. Several users on the T-Mobile Galaxy Note 3 have mentioned over the last few hours that they were receiving the Android 4.4.2 KitKat OTA update.
This is a staggered rollout, so if you don’t see it yet, all you have to do is wait. If you’re interested in checking manually, go to Settings> About Device> Software Update to check if there is an update available.
The software build number for the KitKat update is N900TUVUCNB4. While the change-log that details all the new features isn’t available yet, the most notable difference with this update is that Samsung has finally decided to end its benchmark rigging antics.
There are also a slew of new software additions that come with Android 4.4.2 KitKat, but considering Samsung was in hot water over this move, we felt that it was worth mentioning.
