ISLAMABAD: Standing committee on Information Technology and Telecom in National Assembly has recommended initiative for opening of You tube in country and asked the ministry to give detailed briefing regarding this in next meeting.
The meeting of the committee was held in the chair of its President capt (retd) Safdar in parliament house.
The meeting was attended by State Minister Anosha Rehman, ministry secretary Akhlaq Ahmed Tarrar and other high level officials of ministry.
Moreover, the committee has also recommended to provide mobile phone service in Fata and other tribal areas and allocating special grant in Prime Minister Youth Loan Scheme for Fthse areas for the establishment of IT companies.
It was also revealed in the meeting that from June 2014 more than 4.5 lacs mobile customers in Azad Jammu and Kashmir could face suspension of the mobile services due to stoppage in instruments guarantee deadline of Special Communication Organizations (SCO)
The meeting has approved budget document of two billion and 66 crore for the more than 30 development projects of Ministry for fiscal year 2014 and 2015.
On the occasion member committee Ali Raza Abidi said that United States court had ordered you tube administration to remove all anti Islamic content so now there was no excuse to continue ban on the service in country.
The committee has asked the ministry for the detailed briefing regarding an opening of You Tube in the country in the next committee meeting.
The state minister Anousha Rehman said that the ministry already has taken measures for the opening of You Tube.
