MIRANSHAH: Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) has announced an unconditional ceasefire with Pakistan’s federal government for a period on one month.
TTP spokesperson Shahidullah Shahid said that his organization has decided for a ceasefire in greater interest of Pakistan.
The unconditional ceasefire will be for one month only.
He said that their Ameer (top leader) wanted this and they are obeying it so that the dialogue process can move forward.
The detailed statement said that Pakistan’s government has given positive response to their demands expressing hope that the dialogue process be kept away from politics.
Government nominated peace dialogue committee leader Irfan Siddiqui earlier called for a ceasefire from TTP so that dialogue can prove fruitful.
While till the last reports, government of Pakistan has welcomed the decision and Interior minister Chaudhry Nisar comntacted TTP nominated committee leader Maulana Sami-ul-Haq, who expressed hope that now the talks process will also move forward in the same way.
