Washington: As smartphone market is going red hot, Samsung have unwrapped its flagship smartphone Samsung Galaxy S5.
Samsung Galaxy S5 is one of the most highly anticipated device since the launch of Apple iPhone 5s. Apple shocked the world with iPhone 5s by introducing finger scanner and 64 bit quad core processor.
On the other hand Samsung have gone even more with Samsung Galaxy S5 as the device features a 5.1-inch Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 and a pixel density of 432 pixels per inch (ppi). It’s powered by a 2.5GHz Snapdragon 800, an Adreno 330 graphics processing unit (GPU), and 2GB of RAM. It will be offered in both 16GB and 32GB models, and it also includes a microSD expansion slot that will support up to 64GB microSD cards.
The Galaxy S5 will ship with Android 4.4.2 KitKat and an updated version of Samsung Touchwiz UI on board. Its camera capabilities include a 16-megapixel rear camera that has the ability to record Ultra HD video @ 30fps, HDR rich tone, selective focus, and more. It also has a 2-megapixel front facing camera for video chat. The smartphone includes an update to S health 3.0 and ships with a 2,800 mAh battery.
Samsung has also included a fingerprint scanner inside the Galaxy S5’s home button in an attempt to keep up with Apple’s iPhone 5s.
Lastly, a very notable feature is that the Samsung Galaxy S5 is IP67 certified, making it dust- and water-resistant. The new-generation flagship Galaxy smartphone will go on sale in April, but no pricing details are available at this point. Color options include Charcoal Black, Shimmery White, Electric Blue, and Copper Gold.
On the other hand Apple iPhone 5S did not disappoint either as it ships with Apple’s all new Touch ID, which places a fingerprint scanner inside of the Home button to securely lock the smartphone and make iTunes purchases. The handset is packing a 4-inch Retina display with a resolution of 1136 x 640 and a pixel density of 326 pixels per inch (ppi). It’s powered by a 64-bit A7 processor, making it the first smartphone to ship with a desktop-class processor and it also has an M7 coprocessor that tracks movement and provides better power efficiency.
Its camera capabilities include an 8-megapixel iSight rear camera with slow-motion recording, autofocus, dual-LED flash, and True Tone flash to allow for rich and true colors. The 5S also has a front facing 1.2-megapixel FaceTime HD camera for video chat and selfies. Its wireless connectivity options consist of a 4G LTE radio, dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 with LE, and GPS. The iPhone 5S comes with 16GB of internal storage and its battery will provide up to 10 hours of talk time, 250 hours of standby time, and 10 hours of Internet use.
Both smartphones have their qualities to satisfy the user, but Samsung have the upper hand with improved camera and display.
