Islamabad: The special court on today (Friday) will announce its decision whether it will hear the case against former military ruler Pervez Musharraf in high treason case or not.
According to sources, there were two option for the special court in the case whether it will hear the case or it can also forward this case to military ruler as Musharraf’s councels given argument in the last hearing on Tuesday.
This argument compelled the special court to take some time for the final decision and through this indictment on Musharaf could not be happened.
Embattled Musharraf on Tuesday appeared for the first time in the special court conducting his treason trial but was not charged as the judges said they would decide his petition challenging their mandate.Â
This is the first time in Pakistan’s 66-year history that a former military ruler is facing trial for treason. If convicted, 70-year-old Musharraf could face life imprisonment or the death penalty.
