Strider Hiryu will give the new generation of gamers a chance as Capcom and Double Helix Games will give its classic arcade game a reboot.
Strider is set in a dystopian future in the year 2048, where a mysterious dictator known as the “Grandmaster” rules over the world. Hiryu, the youngest ever Super A ranked member of an organization of high-tech ninja-like agents known as the “Striders”, is alone tasked with the Grandmaster’s assassination. Hiryu begins his mission by infiltrating the Grandmaster’s capital at the Kazakh Soviet Socialist Republic.
The original Strider was released as an arcade title in 1989, a predecessor of Capcom’s popular Street Fighter series. It has since had various iterations on the PC and multiple consoles.
Fans of the classic action game can expect to find Strider for PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 on February 18 and for Xbox 360, Xbox One, and PC on February 19 for $14.99
