JEDDAH: The Saudi Arabian’s top Islamic cleric ‘Mufti Azam’ Sheikh Abdul Aziz Al-Asheikh has released warning for the kingdom’s youth to beware of false Jihadists who called them in foreign countries.
Grand Mufti Sheikh Abdul Aziz Al-Asheikh clarified that young Saudis were misled into believing that they were jihadis except being easy targets for the enemies of Islam in war zones where they were subject to torture, humiliation and slavery and let alone losing their lives, he told during an interview on Saudi Television.
The cleric’s warning released a day after Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah decreed jail terms of up to 20 years for citizens who fight in conflicts abroad or belong to “extremist religious and ideological groups, or those classified as terrorist organisations.
Al-Asheikh appealed the families, schools, the media, and local clerics for spreading awareness amongst youth in order to avoid sedition and focus on creating a better future in the Kingdom.
He termed the false Jihadists’ invitation as manipulation of true message of Islam as they mislead youth with religious rhetoric for breaking national unity which finally resulted in peace disturbance.
It should be mentioned that Sheikh Abdul Aziz Al-Asheikh is a renowned Muslim scholar and the current Grand Mufti of Saudi Arabia And also head of the Permanent Committee for Islamic Research and Issuing Fatwas.
