Muzaffarabad: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Wednesday reiterated firm support to the people of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) in their legitimate struggle for their inalienable right to self-determination and declared Pakistan and AJK two different names of same identity.
While addressing joint session of AJK Legislative Assembly and Kashmir Council, the PM said that thousands of Kashmiris have lost their lives and thousands more are languishing in Indian jails, adding, however, atrocities and humiliations have not deterred them from a cause cased on their legitimate aspiration of their right of self determination as enshrined in the UN Charter and UNSC Resolutions.
He said Pakistan will continue playing its constructive role towards peaceful solution of the Jammu and Kashmir dispute.
“On behalf of the Government and the people of Pakistan, I reaffirm Pakistan’s firm commitment to a just and peaceful resolution of the Kashmir dispute in accordance with the aspirations of the people of Jammu and Kashmir and the protection of their fundamental rights”, he added.
The PM said Pakistan was committed to the resolution of all outstanding disputes with India including Jammu and Kashmir, through dialogue.
“We will always stand by our Kashmiri brethren until the realization of their right to self determination”, the PM maintained.
He further said that the government of Pakistan wanted progress in AJK like that of Pakistan.
“AJK government should plan development projects, Pakistan’s federal government will provide full assistance” he assured.
