Islamabad: Four-member government committee would meet today (Monday) in the chair of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif for consultations as Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) also formed its committee to kick-off dialogue process with the government.
According to sources, the government was now satisfied with the TTP announcement regarding the formation of the committee and wanted to start dialogue with no further delay.
Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan has said that there were still some issues‚ which need to be explained after which the dialogue may start formally.
The Minister said it was a matter of great satisfaction that both sides have announced their negotiating teams after years.
He said this reflects that both sides want to make peace through dialogue.
He said the committee‚ announced by the government‚ has been given full mandate and authority to hold dialogue.
Nisar said the government would decide and announce its strategy after having consultation with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
