ISLAMABAD: Maulana Fazlur Rehman, chief of a politico-religious party Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Fazal (JUI-F), has announced on Monday that his party will not play any role in dialogue process between government and Taliban.
Maulana Fazlur Rehman has formally announced that JUI-F would not join the dialogue process in any perspective between Pakistani government and militants.
Fazlur Rehman, chief of JUI-F and a Pakistani parliamentarian, said that his party formed tribal Grand Jirga could play better role in peace establishment.
He said that the Grand Jirga was unanimously gained support of all political and religious parties of the country but no respect was given to the promises made by federal government in past who allowed for making moves in establishment of peace.
The JUI-F chief was talking to the media after completion of his party’s consultative session attended by the executive committee members.
Fazlur Rehman claimed that he was assured full support for Grand Jirga on February 28 in order to take steps for peace making.
He said that JUI-F was not consulted for initiated recent dialogue process, however, added that they will pray for its success but cannot assure for any achievement.
While answering to a question regarding inclusion of one of his party leaders in Taliban-led dialogue committee, he said that all leaders and workers have to follow orders.
