ISLAMABAD: The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) King Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz has been awarded with doctorate of philosophy (Ph.D.) honorary degree by a Pakistan’s International Islamabad University of Islamabad (IIUI).
The Saudi King’s honorary degree was handed over to his representative Dr. Sulaiman Aba Al-Khail by the IIUI’s chancellor and Pakistani President Mamnoon Hussain during the prestigious event of varsity’s 9th Convocation held during February 2-3.
The degree was given to the Saudi King over his prominent political and public services, however, King Abdullah became the first-ever foreign leader and third politician who was awarded with the honorary doctorate degree in Pakistan.
In previous month, the Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif got honorary Ph.D. degree from Government College of University (GCU) while the Chief Minister of Sindh Qaim Ali Shah awarded by the doctorate degree by Shah Abdul Latif University (SALU) Khairpur.
Earlier, IIUI had also awarded honorary degrees to famous international personalities including Nelson Mandela, former Malaysian Prime Minister Dr. Mahathir Mohamad, Abdullah bin Ahmad Badawi, Jordanian Prince Hassan bin Talal.
