Islamabad: An accountability court (AC) on Friday has indicted former prime minister of Pakistan Raja Pervaiz Ashraf in Rental Power Projects (RPP) case.
The former prime minister appeared before the AC udge Muhammad Bashir today to face charges in multi-billion rupee scam of RPPs.
Pervez Ashraf’s counsel Farooq H Naek argued before the court that his client has nothing to do with the corruption in rental power projects.
After the announcement regarding incidment, Naek said that he would be defended the former PM.
Last month, the NAB filed a supplementary reference against Raja Pervez Ashraf in connection with his involvement in the multi-billion-rupee scandal, after which the anti-corruption court has started hearing.
Ashraf had been under investigation for his role in granting rental power projects as a water and power minister in the cabinet of ex-PM Yousuf Raza Gilani.
The court adjourned the hearing till February 4.
