LAHORE: A strong-rooted politico-religious party in Pakistan, Jamaat-e-Islami (JI), chief Syed Munawar Hasan has termed the Pakistani government’s yielding moves before India for friendship equals as enmity with the Kashmiris.
Addressing the JI central workshop for workers at Mansoora on Wednesday, he said that the more the Pakistan government was yielding to India for closer ties, the tougher was New Delhi’s attitude, and Indian army chief’s recent statement was evidence. He said that India was persistently violating the cease fire line but was putting the blame on this country.
The India army chief had also confirmed having killed ten Pakistani troops, he said, and the government must offer an explanation on the point.
The JI Ameer noted that the government was now following a firm policy on talks with the Taliban. Instead of adopting a clear stance on the issue, the Interior Minister was talking of the guns and the dialogue in the same breath.
He said, even after getting a clear mandate for talks at the APC, the rulers were obeying the US dictation. However, he said, that military operation was not the solution.
Syed Munawar Hasan said that the JI had repeatedly urged the government not to push the country towards civil war by following the US dictation of Do More, but it was all in vain. Instead of finding solutions to the issues of terrorism, extortion, poverty and unemployment, the high ups in the government were busy in grinding their own axes.
High government offices were being dished out to friends and major institutions were being sold out to cronies in the name of privatization.
He said that Mian Nawaz Sharif had sold out several state institutions to his friends on throw away prices during his previous term and 26 per cent shares of the PUA were being sold out now. He called upon the Prime Minister to account for the billions collected through the “Qaraz Utaro, Mulak Sanwaro”, scheme during his previous term.
Meanwhile Syed Munawar Hasan and JI Secretary General Liaqat Baloch have expressed deep grief over the road tragedy at Nawabshah, resulting in the death of over twenty students.
They expressed heartfelt condolences with the bereaved families and prayed for the early recovery of the injured.
