ISLAMABAD: Ministry of Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit Baltistan have sent the recommendations to Prime Minister Secretariat, to amend the constitution for raise the number of provinces from 4 to 6 declaring Azad Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan part of Pakistan.
According to recommendations, United Nation resolutions already recognized residents of Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan as Pakistan citizen so both the provinces should be included in Pakistan as two new provinces.
They also recommended that the committee to be constituted comprising of secretaries from ministry of Kashmir and Gilgit and Baltistan, foreign ministry, Law ministry to consider these recommendations.
Sources said that these recommendations have been tabulated by ex-chief justice of Azad Kashmir Manzoor Hussain Gillani and ex-IG Sindh Afzal Shigri after reviewing all legal and constitution options and with the mutual consultations with all stake holders of Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan including all religious and political parties.
Foreign ministry sent back to these recommendations to the ministries of Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan, with the inner house consultation.
These recommendations were then also sent to Law ministry to seeking for Legal and constitutional opinion.
