Islamabad: Preparations have been finalized on the eve of 12th Rabi-ul-Awwal (Birth Anniversary of Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) with religious zeal and fervour across Pakistan.
The government has announced a public holiday today due to which banks, officers, education institutions, shopping areas will remain closed.
Mosques, homes, buildings and plazas have been decorated with colorful lights and buntings.
Various religious, social and cultural organizations have organized rallies, processions, Mahafil-e-Milad and Seerat gatherings where speakers will highlight various aspects of the life and teachings of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW).
An International Seerat Conference will be held on the occasion in the Federal Capital to highlight the life and achievements of the Holy Prophet (PBUH).
The federal and all the provincial governments have taken tight security measures to maintain law and order on the occasion of Eid Milad-un-Nabi (Peace Be Upon Him).
The Interior Ministry has directed the security agencies to take all possible precautionary steps to deal with any untoward situation and ensure safety of lives and properties of the citizens.
Officials said suspension of cell phone services will continue from 7 am to 10 pm various towns of the country, with ban on pillion riding imposed in Karachi, Rawalpindi, Peshawar and other cities as part of the security plan.
