Islamabad: The special court on Friday has given its decision regarding court’s authority asking to apply criminal procedure code (CrPc) in the high treason case against former military ruler Pervez Musharaf.
The court ruled that the all necessary laws would be enforced including arrest warrant.
The decision was made by a three-member bench headed by Justice Faisal Arab on January 8. Justice Arab read out the operating part of the verdict today.
The court said Musharaf’s request for exemption will only be granted if he makes the plea in person.
Musharaf faces treason charges under Article 6 for suspension, subverting and abrogating the Constitution, imposing an emergency in the country in November 2007 and detaining judges of the superior courts.
