Karachi: Leader of the opposition in Sindh Assembly and senior leadar of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Faisal Sabzwari on Monday has welcomed the verdict given by the Sindh High Court (SHC) regarding to declare Singh Local Government Act 2013 illegal and unconstitional.
During a press conference in Sindh Assembly, Faisal Sabzwari demanded the Sindh government to hold local bodies elections as per court order.
He said that the MQM was ready to elect local bodies election at any time and the provincial government should announce the date as early as possible.
Sabzwari demanded to hold census in the province to calculate the population and resources.
He said the laws should be made according to constitution and not for personal interest.
The MQM leader level allegations to the leading party in Sindh that Pakistan People Party wanted to get mayorship in Karachi and Hyderabad by hook or by crook.
