Larkana: The sixth death anniversary of Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto would be observed today (Friday) throughout the country.
The Sindh government has announced a public holiday on the day while the PPP has finalised arrangements for the main function in this regard at Garhi Khuda Bukhsh.
The ceremony would be held on the ground adjacent to Benazir’s mausoleum in Garhi Khuda Bukhsh. Fateha and Quran khwani would also be held.
Former president Asif Ali Zardari, PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Bakhtawar Bhutto Zardari, Aseefa Bhutto Zardari, central and provincial leadership of the PPP, federal and provincial ministers and parliamentarians would attend the ceremony.
The PPP Chairman Bilawal would also address a public meeting.
A documentary, depicting the life and achievements of Benazir Bhutto would also be shown on the occasion. People from across the country including Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) and Azad Jammu and Kashmir have started reaching Garhi Khuda Bukhsh to attend the ceremony.
Extraordinary security measures have been adopted for which around 10,000 personnel of police and other law enforcing agencies have been deployed.
