Islamabad: The government of Pakistan has announced the distribution of 30 million Compact Fluorescent Lamps (CFLs) or energy saver bulbs under Prime Minister Energy Saver Programme to save 1000 MW electricity in the country.
According to officials, the environment friendly programme is help to control load-shedding under which each household would be provided two energy savers free of cost, official sources said here on Monday.
The sources said by adopting energy savers, the subscribers can also save Rs 1600 in their electricity bills per annum.
They said two common bulbs in each household would be replaced with energy savers which would have two years warranty.
