Lahore: Despite complete support by government machinery and high profile personalities, Director General (DG) Anti Corruption Punjab Abid Jawed has launched an investigation against Vice Chancellor of Punjab Univeristy, the biggest univeristy of Pakistan over issuing fake degree to Abdul Qadir Gillani, the son of former prime minister Yousuf Raza Gillani.
According to a report published in a local newspaper, DG Abid Jawed has contacted with the Punjab Government to take into confidence.
The report said that initially Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) took the case but due to the government of Pakistan Peoples Party, the case could not be brought to justice.
In the present government, the FIA forwarded this case to the Anti Corruption to take this case and initiate an inquiry.
The report further said that the Anti Corruption had already received multiple corruption cases against the VC Mujahid Kamran including issuing 9.5 million to complete Ph.D.
