DOHA: A prominent Islamic clerk and Egyptian theologian Yusuf Al Qaradawi has appealed the Bangladesh government to stop targeting their political opponents and termed the death sentence to Abdul Quader Molla as ‘murder of justice’.
International Union of Muslim Scholars (IUMS) chief Yusuf Al Qaradawi has severely criticism the ongoing victimisation by Bangladesh government of the their political opponents as recently the controversial crime tribunal pronounced death sentence to the Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) leader Abdul Quader Molla.
While issuing the declaration at the end of the Islamic executive committee, Majlis Shura, of IUMS, it has been demanded of the Bangladeshi Prime Minister Sheikh Haseena Wajid to hold general elections in the country to meet the political crisis under impartial government.
The declaration says that the country (Bangladesh) would remain under the grip of strikes due to political victimisation of the Ulema and political leadership.
IUMS showing solidarity with Kashmiri masses has demanded of the international community to play their role for the resolution of Kashmir issue according to the wishes of Kashmiri people and also according to the resolutions of the United Nations Organisation (UNO).
The declaration says that the Kashmir dispute is core issue between the two nuclear states and resolution of Kashmir dispute is necessary.
According to the declaration, the IUMS has demanded the withdrawal of the US forces from Afghanistan, adding that masses in Afghanistan have right to decide their future. The declaration says that the exemptions given to the US forces by Afghan government, even which are not enjoyed by the Afghans, would further deteriorate the situation.
IUMS also condemned the military revolution in Egypt and demanded immediate restoration of elected government, adding that the army action has compelled masses towards dictatorship.
The declaration says that the Majlis Shura has lauded the efforts of Egyptian masses for peaceful struggle against the dictatorship in the country. The declaration says that the struggle of Egyptian masses would succeed.
IUMS condemning the excesses against the masses in Syria from three years has demanded the removal of Basharul Asad.
