Liverpool Luis Suarez scored a hat-trick against NorwichCity at Anfield including a goal from 35 yards as his team jumped out to a 3-0 first-half lead over rivals.
The Uruguayan terrorized the Canaries for three goals in 20 minutes, with his first strike a likely candidate for “Goal of the Year.” In the 15th minute, Suarez launched a right-footed shot from roughly 35 yards out to put the Reds ahead. The shot seemed to catch goalkeeper John Ruddy and the Norwich defense off guard as the unmarked Suarez lobbed the ball into the Liverpool sky after accepting a friendly bounce.
Suarez would score twice more in the first half, in the 29th and again in the 35th, notching his third hat-trick in the last four matches against the Canaries.
In the 29th the Canaries conceded a corner, and midfielder Philippe Coutinho fired a cross to the middle of the area, which Suarez converted into a header and goal.
Showing no signs of slowing down, Suarez struck again six minutes later off an assist by midfielder Raheem Sterling, burying the ball from the left side of the box to the bottom right corner. It was another example of the 26-year-old flourishing when given room to be creative.
The subject of intense transfer rumors in the summer, Suarez has already scored 12 goals in Premier League matches this season. He sat out the beginning of the season due to suspension.
Barring a tremendous comeback from Norwich, Liverpool will remain unbeaten in their last nine matches against the Canaries.
