Lahore: Additional District and Sessions Judge Muhammad Kaleem Khan on Wednesday suspended pre-arrest bail to cricketer Wahab Riaz for violating Section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure and Section 8 of the Marriage Act 2003 by arranging a ‘late night’ party in connection with his marriage at his residence in Garden Town on November 24.
According to reports, Wahab Riaz had to reach before the court today but could not reach to present his stance.
The court ordered his lawyer to present the cricketer but he said that Wahab Riaz not wanted to come to the court.
After the official reply by the lawyer, the court suspended pre-arrest bail to cricketer and now police can arrest him at anytime.
It is to be mentioned here that Wahab Riaz sought adjournment of the proceedings till after his marriage, scheduled next month. The FIR was registered by Town Municipal Officer Muhammad Amir, who said that he and his team had found Wahab violating the “one-dish” and the “10pm” rules.
